Script Editing & DOCTORING
Our extensive experience in writing produced scripts has given us the knowledge necessary to look at your script and edit it into something that is workable for producers while still being true to your characters, theme(s), and plot.
We'll help you with sharpening your dialogue, fill in (or remove) plot holes, make sure your characters stay true to who they are, and overall tighten your script by trimming the excess fat. We'll also consider things that producers must think about like budgets, effects, shooting period, target markets, and any other factors that producers need to consider when moving forward with a project. We've edited many scripts (both stage & screen) to fit into the limitations and/or expectations set forth by producers & directors. Several have met with a lot of success in festivals & competitions. Having someone cover your script in notes and changes can feel discouraging, but always remember that a good script editor works with you to make your script stronger and more appealing to a producer, studio, festival, and/or audience.

Just as the hero gets comfortable in one environment, the rug gets pulled out from under his feet and moves him in an entirely different direction. This keeps keeps the interest level high..." This is where focus on who or what the story is really about is lost. It seems that the story is about Angela's pregnancy, so it might serve the story more to see how she deals with it..." As you know, it takes time to read a script and then make thorough comments about it. In order to write a helpful coverage of any script, a reader must sometimes re-read the script 2-3 times. Also, it takes time to write helpful comments, so we feel it's only fair that the reader should be compensated for taking his/her time to look at your script. Most writers would need to pay hundreds if not thousands of dollars to have an experienced story consultant look at their work, and it can take several weeks to receive the comments from the person assigned to evaluating your script.
