Produced for the 2013 CTS Online Short Film Contest, Taiwan
Running Time: 12minutes
Genre: Youth Drama
Award: Audience Choice Award
The theme for the short film contest that year was "Social Welfare", so we decided to tackle the issues of teenaged bullying, alcoholism, and physical abuse.
The kids in the movie were all actual students of the Director (Paul R Despins --> credited as Paul Roger), and performed as both cast and crew for the film. Despite filming outside for 3 days in Taiwan's grueling summer heat, the students never once complained, and their hard work and dedication contributed to the film's success. "Certainly, they were an inspiration," said Paul when the movie finished principal photography. "Indeed, we were lucky to have all the support from everyone involved... the students, the parents, and the professional filmmakers who volunteered their time and talents for this worthy project."
The film's cast & crew were made up entirely of volunteers, and it was through everyone's sheer passion for the subject matter that the film was finished.
